Cheryl Turner’s Bio
“My purpose in life is to serve others and help them to achieve their dreams.”
Cheryl Turner is the Principal Consultant and Founder of Essential Foundation Consulting, LLC. She leads her company in supporting the organizational development of businesses, including the essentials of character and structural development for a lasting foundation. Her company’s vision is to infuse excellence in a strategic way for a community that will last forever.
Over her 30-year career, Cheryl served numerous organizations and companies in strategic planning formation, Board Governance, programming, compliance, and sustainability in healthcare, technology, nonprofits, and other industries. She has developed and sustained over 20 collaborative partnerships over the years. Some of her accomplishments were receiving outstanding monitor reports with “zero” negative findings, being the recipient of the Coalition for the Homeless “Super Star Award” for Data Quality, being recognized for “Outstanding Efforts” in the campaign to “Housing Houston’s Heroes,” and local, state and national presenter on developing community outreach plans and engagement for the homeless.
Cheryl is passionate about volunteering in the community. She serves on Houston ISD Student Education Office Advisory Community and Lone Star College ALL Advisory Board. She volunteered for the African American Men Wellness Walk. In addition, she served as a mentor for the Lone Star College Impact Project.
Cheryl obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Houston and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas. In addition, she graduated from the University of Houston C. T. Bauer School of Business SURE Entrepreneur Program and was a member of the Alumni Program and served on its Education Committee.
She is the proud mother of Ashley Paige Turner-Captain and son-in-love, Jimmie Captain.
What’s next for Cheryl Turner? Continuing to pursue God with all her heart and continuing to serve others. It is a privilege to serve!
